unlocked full keyboard phone compatible with att

Hi everyone,

Are there any full keyboard phones (except blackberry) that when unlocked can be used with att? My budget is $200-$300.

Are you looking for a smartphone, or a "normal" cell phone? There's a lot of options with horizontal flip-up keyboards that might work great for txting.
 
All I need is good reception for talking and a full keyboard for texting. I am not going to use my phone for emails or browsing the internet that's why I need an unlocked phone so I don't have to pay for a data plan.
 
Ahhh. Makes sense. I think there's a tracfone with a full keyboard, but as for unlockable AT&T ones, I'm at a loss.
 
With AT&T, the iPhone is the only phone where you are required to get a data plan. You don't have to get an unlocked phone. Just buy any AT&T phone (with a qwerty), except for the iPhone. If you don't wish to use data, don't get the data plan. You can even block data if you wish. Reps will push the data plans, because they work on commission, but expect for the iPhone, you are not required to have data on any phone, even smartphones. You should get a text plan though, since you plan to text.
