Unlocked blackberry and Boost Mobile SIM cards?

I'm hoping to come into ownership of a blackberry (a curve) and first thing I plan on doing is unlocking it. Will it work out fine if I just buy a Boost Mobile prepaid unlimited SIM card and put it in? Will it work out fine regardless of the model I suppose is the better question.
