unlock via IR

I am thinking about getting a 6610

is it possible to do EVERYTHING I can do with a datacable over IR?

including unlocking. is there any advantage to having a cable over IR? thanks for any help you guys can give...

You can unlock Your phone without cable and IrDA. Just use calculator!
I think IrDA can't do some things, but if You want to upload games, pictures and tones only than IrDA is better one!

You can unlock a mobile phone only using unlock code. There is no possibilities to unlock a Nokia 6610 through IR (Infra Red). Anyway, You can get the free unlock code for a Nokia 6610 from www.Unlocking4Free.com by submitting your mobile phone model, Current Network & IMEI Number.
