Okay, after receiving financial aid, 9500$ worth of it, and a pell grant on about 3200.00, I decided to drop out after taking 2 classes that I got A's in. My reasons for dropping out are endless, but my question....
They told me NOT to drop out after taking only 2 classes because I would not satisfy my financial aid requirements, if I take one more class I will satisfy my requirements and I will not have to pay that money back (right away) Does this sound fishy? Since I was out of attendance for 32 days they supposedly already sent my remaining funds back to the lender, so she enrolled me in a class, reassuring me that they will get the money back for this class from the lender. The class doesn't start for 2 weeks but I noticed on my account page that it says I need to pay 1200$ for this class that she registered me, that I have not even started yet, does this sound fishy? Maybe they are just waiting to "get the money back from the lender" so they can apply it to my account, or maybe I will just have a bill for this class because they lied to me. What do you guys think about this?
Second part of this.
I used my 2007 taxes to go to university of phoenix for the 2008 year. I recently ( like a month ago) Used my 2009 taxes to apply for aid at my community college (I have not officially withdrawn from phoenix yet because I was told to take one more class so I would not default and have to pay my my aid right away) So, my aid for the community college is still being "processed" They said since I did not have any loans in default so far that my aid will go through. Can I be enrolled in Phoenix (using financial aid from 2008) and be enrolled in my community collge (using aid from 2009) SO I can finish that stupid class at phoenix and still start school now?! I have put in a request for my transcripts from phoenix just in case ( I hear that if you are in debt to them, they will not hand them out) So just in case I ordered them, now. I did not tell list Phoenix on my local college's application because I know that they will not take credits from Phoenix, but I am hearing that they WILL request the transcripts anyways...Im so confused, what should I do? Is there maybe ANYWHERE I can call to get some honest help. I don't trust phoenix and my local college seems really busy and un-informative about my complex situation. I just want to get out of phoenix but continue to get aid. help plz
