University educated and can't find a job, should I kill myself?

I'm just so god damn frustrated. I've worked hard my entire life, recently graduated with an MSW (Masters in social work) and still can't find a freakin' job. I was unable to find a job with my undergrad degree, and was advised to go back to study for my masters, since social work is a field with a lot of job opportunities. Now I just feel lied to and cheated. I've even tried applying for minimum wage jobs, and was even rejected by some fast food places. WTF???

My living conditions are crap right now, I'm deep in debt and have even had to sell my car. I can't take it anymore. I have no family to help me and I'm probably going to end up homeless soon anyways. Stupid economy... Is suicide the only way out?

Ps: Here's my advice to you kids, EDUCATION IS A FRAUD. A university degree doesn't guarantee you a job as you may have been told your whole life. Especially in a crap economy like this. Everyone is told to take out more loans and go back to school, but it just ends up with them deeper in the hole with another useless degree.

Correction: education in a field that doesn't produce anything is a fraud.

What, exactly, does a "masters in social work" produce? Cars? Computers? Toasters? No, social work produces.... nothing. Why would a company pay you money to produce nothing?

That's the serious question you need to ask yourself.

There are plenty of companies that will pay you money, but you need to find one that actually has a need for your skills.

As for getting rejected by "some" fast food places -- tough! Some doesn't mean all. I lost my good paying computer job due to the economy, and had to work as a house painter for a while. Sweating it out in the heat for just above minimum wage. A year later, I landed a good job and that's where I work now... because I have skills that companies can use to make money.

So start making a list of ways that you can make money for companies. What are you good at? Numbers? Talking to people? Fact checking? Focus on your strengths and stop whining like a little girl.
