Universal Wireless Keyboard for TX

How long will it take for Palm to put out the keyboard driver for the TX. I have depended on two of these keyboards with my prevoius palms and now have the TX with no driver to use.

Does it take a week, month or year for Palm to deliver the driver? :(

I suspect that the lastest version will work.....why wouldn't it? There might be a few special keys that won't work but I think that those would be minimal.

EDIT: Looking at Palm site - it says soon. I'd suspect that the driver would be available by the end of next week.

I have now installed 1.08 and tried out the Palm's Universal Wireless Keyboard and it works OK for my limited requirements. I only use it to type in Doc to Go (word processing) and all the typing keys work and some of the Fn (function) keys work to open the menu options, rotate the screen and so on. I have not tried every function to make a list of what works and what didn't but I am happy with what works for now...

Therefore, I would rate the level of functionality to be about 98% (for me) for Universal Wireless Keyboard with Palm TX. Others may find that they have other requirements in other apps and the level may be lower. In any case, I would assume 95%+ functionality for most people.

So don't be like me and leave the keyboard in the original pack (just in case Palm don't release an official Palm TX driver, I was going to sell it), use it, it is still fine for most work (without the TX driver).

I just got the FREE wireless keyboard in the mail two days ago and installed the driver from the enclosed CD. I have used it with my TX and I see no problems. Pretty cool actually, it is an engineering marvel the way it folds up, albiet rather delicate.

Upon closer inspection, I see one glaring point of early failure. It is the way the ribbon cable connects at the folding point. It looks OK when closed, but when fully open with the keyboard laying flat, the ribbon cable is bent sharply at almost 90 degrees and is further stressed by the fact that the loop in the ribbon cable is pressing against the keyboards plastic bottom cover. Has anyone else noticed this?

Cheers,
John

I am noticing some issues witht 1.08 driver and my TX. For instance, I'm unable to connect to my ISP through my bluetooth enabled cell phone (SE T610) when the driver is present. When I delete the driver I connect with no problems.

My goal, of course, is to surf using the keyboard for data entry, etc.

Can anyone else use his or her TX with the palm universal wireless keyboard while maintaining a bluetooth connection to and ISP?
