I was teaching a friend how to ride on a borrowed motorcycle. I had permission to use the bike but my friend didn't. He scraped a car in an apartment parking lot. I left my info for the owner and offered to pay for the damages in monthly payments. Total bill was 1200.00 and I was going to do 6 payments. The owners wants her car fixed now. Can I be forced to file a claim against the owner of the motorcycle? I feel it was my fault for not training him in a safer place so I'm willing to pay for the damage. He doesn't own a vehicle so he doesn't have insurance.
