Thanks in Advance for any suggestions,

I am 23 and should be in the prime of my life. Instead I'm a home-body who feels sick all the time. The following are my symptoms:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Fatigue
  • Mixed episodes of insomnia and hypersomnia
  • idiopathic pain mostly in my right hip and teeth
  • lightheadedness
  • dizziness
  • loss of appetite w/o weightloss
  • tachycardia BPM in the 120s

Blood test are unremarkable as are imaging of my hip and dental films. I've been taking multiple meds including, Paxil, Seroquel, Valium, Motrin 800, Lortab 10mg/500mg, Trazadone 150mg. and Ambien 10mg.

Stimulants such as caffeine and amphetamines do nothing for my fatigue yet induce severe anxiety symptoms.

I also have nightmares and I sweat profusley even with the a/c at 68 degrees Fahrenheit. When i wake up my bed, pillow and sheets are drenched with sweat.

i know at your age this sounds crazy. but all your symptoms sound like mine and mine are caused mainly by menopause. have a fsh test which is a blood test to determine where your hormone levels are . if it is menopause, it only gets worse. good luck.

Dear Friend,
by the list of mental health meds.
I would quetion the Doctor on why so many?
I suffer from high anxiety and depression and take two kinds of pills.
I am ready to drop the Drepression next.
I feel they over medicate you, and that's why you can't stay awake. I understand both, as I have been on them a long time. You may find that your addicted to some, because of taking them so long,
Give it a try, you have nothing to loose.

Thanks for the suggestion. I started having most of the symptoms at the same time. I know I have developed a dependency on the opiates and benzos, but I am by no means a drugseeker I never took anything stronger than a Tylenol w/ codeine when I was younger. I am sorry if I come off a little hostile but the doctors who prescribed them too me are now suggesting the same thing. Including my psychyatrist. It's like the BP oil spill they drilled the hole but weren't prepared for what would eventually come out of it.

Hi,
Often the piling of drugs on you,
with each one of them having side effects, that will affect you and how you feel and act.
I feel for you and what your going through.
Do you live at home of in a care place?
I would just hope that you are not given up.
I wish you well and hope you feel better son

I side with auntjudyg regarding diet. There are many dietary problems. When all else fails look at one's diet.

How many calories do you consume at any one meal, or for the day, on average. How many carbs do you eat. Do you eat a lot of pasta, potatoes or rice? Do you eat candy, or do a lot of snacking? Do you smoke? Do you drink alcohol?

I used to suffer from Chronically High Blood Pressure, and worsening Heart Failure. My blood pressure is now at very, very healthy levels all day and all night, 24 hours per day, and my Heart Failure is getting progressively better rather than worse, mostly through diet.

I've also been able to cut my medications down to a minimum of 6.25mg Coreg, and .25mg Digoxin to treat Heart Failure, Persistent Atrial Fibrillation, Insulin Resistance/Pre-Diabetes 2 and High Blood Pressure.

The best medication one can take, and the best approach to undiagnosed illnesses is DIET!

You are right about the docs who prescribe the meds, then pile more on top of those to take care of the side effects of the previous meds. Your symptoms are from the meds you are on. You are so young and should be out living a very full life. I am also shocked the doc has you on so many. I hope you can start cutting one med. out at a time and get your health and mental state back to normal. Once you slowly wean off these, one day at a time, one pill at a time, you will start having more energy, feeling less depressed, sleeping more soundly, and thinking more clearly, and then realize how much you have to look forward to as there really is a whole world going on outside for you to enjoy.
