I just also recently saw the first one on DVD.
It is an underrated movie in my opinion in that it does have high production values, special and visual effects and an interesting back story to the whole Lycane/Vampire War...
But as you all said, it was way underdeveloped and concentrated more on guns, throwing stars and cool, slow-mo Matrix style battles than why there were actually fighting in the first place OR who Scott Speedman's character was supposedly related to.
Has anyone tried Coming Attractions to see if they've got the scoop?
I gurantee you that the producers had a plot once the original hit theaters -- and probably, before that if it is part of a trilogy like most storeis like these are (reagrdless if they make money or not).
It's not like people make stuff up in five minutes and it gets made into a movie... Er, okay, well, not MOST of the time
