I don`t mind the comedy aspect either; at times it bordered on lampshading, satire, parody, and general deconstruction of the superhero genre on what is otherwise a general teen superhero show.
But the writers suffered from abusing it too much and the series ended up with too many "ha-ha"s during serious events. It often unfortunately resulted in a poor balance between drama and comedy, something I know the show is capable of, but never fully quite grasped. Now I`m more intrigued on Steve Marmel`s proposal of Season Three where he stated would have been darker. The mind ponders...
