Underated Actors/Actresses

What are your fav underated actors/actresses from the movies?

Mine are

Eliza Dushku (she's best known as her television characters but she's done quite a few movies)

Amanda Seyfried (she's has a lot of movies in the pipeline now she has quit Big love so she may become less underated as the year goes on, but i really think she is one to watch)

Seyfried, yes. She's proving to be very good in different types of roles.

Dukshoot, I'm not so sure. I love her as Faith, and she OK in Dollhouse, but I think she's a bit limited.

I know lots of people are going to disagree with me on this, but Megan Fox.

Don't get me wrong, Kate Winslet she is not, but I think she's much much better than a lot of people are willing to give her credit for.

I don't know whether to disagree about Fox. I mean the role for Jen's body seemed written for her but she was so uninteresting. Amanda Seyfried stole the limelight for that movie despite being a supporting role. I guess i need to see her in more roles. Jonas Hex looks interesting which she is set to star in next.

I wouldn't call Kate Winslet underated. But i wouldn't call her overated. I don't know many golden globe or oscar winners who can be classed as underated. That means they are being recognised for their work by winning awarRAB, where as people like Seyfried and Dushku are not.

I don't think the poster was calling KW underrated. If you re-read, she was just using KW as an example of a good actress in comparison to MF.

My underrated actresses are Thora Birch, Juliette Lewis, Claire Danes, Martha Plimpton, Gina Gershon.....I'll have to think about the actors

Darling of the Indie film directors a few years ago, Martha Plimpton has had a low profile in recent times.

She's appeared in a few TV series; Grey's Anatomy, Medium, Fringe and more recently in a couple of episodes of The Good Wife. She's also got a recurring role in the new HBO series How To Make It In America which is currently screening in the US.

This year she's got a movie coming out - Small Town Murder Scenes.

Laugh as you may but I've always thought Christopher Lambert had an interesting presence in his early movies like Subway and Highlander. After that I don't think he knew what he was doing with his career. I also think that Charles Bronson was a better actor than people made him out to be. It's not always about talking and saying the right worRAB, presence and having a unique style is just as important in my opinion.

But if the member isn't calling her underated, why is she listing her on this thread. The thread clearly states underated actors/actresses. Although the person should talk for themselves.

Because I was using 'Kate Winslet' as an adjective for a universally praised actress. My point was that whilst I'm not saying she's a great actress akin to Winslet, she isn't as bad as people make her out to be.

Chill man.

Kevin Bacon- Should have got oscar nominations for Murder In The First and The WooRABman

Emily Watson- Should have won the oscar for Breaking The Waves
