Underarm painful lump

I have a lump on my underarm, I can barely lift my arm up. It's a little red, most of the time they're soft. I've gotten these before intermittently (please don't asky why I haven't seen a doctor,) when they go away they get hard and itchy. I'm guessing it's an abscess, is there anything else it might be?
 
It probably is an absess of sorts. However you probably have some staph or strep in that absess. I know that going to the Doctor is annoying and time consuming, but when you do get one of these you should go and get put on some oral antibiotics. That could possibly end this cycle. You haven't been to a doctor because you're a GUY! :)
I'm having similar symptoms - although not as severe. I can lift my arm.
Did you ever receive a diagnosis?
