underage laws north carolina?

i am 19 but this girl wants to hang out shes 16 or 17 i know it is illegal to have sex with her,, is it illegal to just hang out?? like i hang out with her, what like she goes to the law then says i tried rapeing her or she have sex with her bf then says i did it, they need proof right?? because she seems great i just dont wanna get arrested by not breaking the laws
 
The age of consent in North Carolina, like most states, is 16.

Unless you are her teacher or guardian, you can't be charged with statutory rape, since the law sees her as an adult when it comes to sexual activity.
