under washington's new assisted suicide law, what lethal medication is prescribed?

under washington's new assisted suicide law (which I do not support in any way, suicide is suicide), it is stated that a soctor can prescribe a "lethal prescription". what is normally used for this? is it really a dignified way to die, or is it painful? It's hard for me to realy grasp the thoughts that must go through your head when given a finite time to die. I am just curious if the law makes any provision on what kind of medication, or whether a lethal dose of ANY medication is used, at the doctor's discretion. also, doesn't this go against the hippocratic oath to "do no harm"?
 
if they use the same stuff Oregon uses, it looks like a bottle of cough syrup. I don't know what was in it but I have seen three patients use it and they didn't appear to be in pain
 
They are a combination of an ultra-short, (fast,) acting lethal dose of an opiate based barbiturate, such as morphine, and a lethal dose of a chemical paralytic, such as, succinylcholine.

And no, it is not painful. The doses are so lethal the individual is in a deep coma-like state before the paralytic completely stops the heart.
 
What a stupid law...does that mean that there will be no more suicide help line in the state of Washington? If someone is threatening to jump from a bridge or building is everyone going to look the other way? Sorry I did not answer your question..but it is amazing what people vote for.
