OMG I love this movie, i'm watching it now on VHS. John Candy was awesome. I love the bit where he goes to vidit his neice's headmistress and he can't take his eyes his eyes off the mole on her face lol love this film, anyone else?

OMG what are the chances i was just about to start my own uncle buck thread.in new york at the mo and saw it on tv here yesterday. great film and Macaulay Culkin is brilliant in it.

This ranks as one of my all time fav films.

Macaulay Culkin is brilliant in this film ..... although i hated him in Home Alone. John Candy is wonderfully hugable and i wish he were my Uncle Buck.

Another 80's classic and john candy's death is still a huge loss to the generation of kiRAB then and who are now adults who like me think no one will ever replace him.

Its one of those films that makes you say the line...

"They don't make 'em like they used to"

If they had made Uncle Buck now it would probably have starred Maryln Manson and Britney Spears and have absolutely no funny bits whatsoever and have about 5 sex scenes

I also loved him in Splash - he was fantastic with Tom Hanks. Such a shame he died when he did. Also thought he did a great job in Cool Runnings!!

me too "what's your record for consecutive questions?" :)

i once sat in the sozzled clown's mouse vw at universal studios. (it was right next to the A teams van :D .)

I really like this movie - makes me laugh

Love the way Buck harasses Bud (the girl's boyfriend) and does his laugh lol - also made me laugh when he called him Bug instead of Bud

My fave film. So many memories from the film that I love. Buck dancing with the neighbour, resulting in the head butting. Him walking down the school corridor, backed with the heavy drum beat: walking into the boys toilets to find the mini urinals. So many mornings I have woken up and dreamt about eating that massive pancake...mmm

(I like Macaulay Culkin in 'Home Alone'...maybe because my son was a wee tot at the time and loved the film...!)
BUT... The only redeeming factor or funny bit in 'Uncle Buck' is the bit where Macaulay 'questions' Uncle Buck... the rest is soup.
