Hello, I live in California, and during the summer months, my apartment reaches over 100 degrees. I live with my mother and my son. My mother is 58 years old and collects disability. Now, my landlord will not allow us to install a window air conditioner (because of what it will look like on the outside). What I don't understand is, it is a requirement to have heating. Why not cooling? People suffer from heat exhaustion and heat stroke all the time. Our candles even melt it gets so hot. Right now, it's hotter in the apartment than it is outside. Go figure. Is there anything we can do? It's ridiculous to have to live like this, and with the economy the way it is, we can't afford to move anywhere else. I feel like my mother's health could be at risk. And my son has asthma as well. Thanks.
Well, I just found my answer. Something HAS to be done. My son's asthma medicine must be at room temperature (55-77 degrees F) otherwise, it's loses effectiveness. And my neighbor downstairs has A/C.
