unable to hot sync

:confused: I had to do a hard reset and now I can't hot sync. The hot sync version on T5 is 5.0p, but 6.0.1 on my desktop. How can I fix this? Please help me. :confused:

I am not sure what you mean by your posting. Have you also gone to the Palm web site and updated the hotsync manager by downloading new software?

Version numbers between the handheld and the desktop don't mean anything. As long as you have the Palm Desktop version that came with the T5, you should be able to HotSync--so something is obviously amiss. Does anything happen at all when you try to HotSync? (Does the computer give any indication that it's communicating with the T5 and does the T5 do anything, or do they just sit there like you never pressed the button?)
 
I thought that you had to have the same hot sync version numbers for it to hot sync, but I guess I was wrong. I tried uninstalling and then reinstalling the Palm Desktop software but that didn't work. When I press hot sync, it says its "communicating..." and then there is a failure to communicate message.
