uma problems?

~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~check your cpu when something like that happens, because if someone else is using that signal its going to decrease yours pretty immaculately

Im trying my home wifi w/ my curve. My UMA worked for about 2hours on Wed when I got my curve & today it was on for about 5 minutes when I walked in the house. My computer guru friend said to turn my home wifi off then back on & it may make my signal stronger. Ima little nervous to try that. AND When I set up my wifi home acct on wed I had the red lines, I havent seen them since. Is this the network prob people are saying wont be fixed until 10/22? Any ideas my friends

I have two 8320's and a laptop. Are you saying that my phones a competing for the signal? It seems that only one phone will have the UMA signal. This causes my messenger messages to be slower than usual on the phone without the UMA signal. If they both have the same signal they communicate just fine. Any ideas why this is happening?

~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~its pretty much if your having another wireless device(a laptop or something like that) it will slow down your connection to your phone because when I have my laptop running in my house I'm getting 30-42kbps if I run just my phone I'm getting 69-78 kbps steadily. That's just my experience, everyone else might be a little different

I spoke with Tmo customer service last night. I had the same problem. UMA worked right out of the box (super cool), but failed after a short time ( a day or less), and it took me a while to call them.

There's a bug. (surprise?)

You need to go to "manage connections", then uncheck wifi - wait until the wifi icon disappears from the homescreen (which shows in the background), and then recheck the wifi checkbox.

That should re-force a connection via UMA. The first time I did this, I had to pull the battery for a minute, but since then, the uncheck/recheck has worked to connect me to UMA.

Unfortunately, my UMA connection never really lasts that long (for voice, lasts just fine for data). So, I find that before I make long calls, I try to get on UMA (I have hotspot at home, so my wifi minutes are free). And, fortunately, I live near a good signal, so I'm not dependent on UMA for a connection.

Good luck,

David

i haven't had a UMA or uma connection in about 2 weeks. i'm trying your trick now and seeing if that works
