Ultimate Guide To Folding@home

Just to show you what we're doing is child's play.

It makes me humble.
Over at Sudhian.com a guy named MarkF build a 'Folding Farm'.
A rack totally filled with stripped boards, with a single goal: Folding.
Every floor in this rack carries 2 boards.

(Pics are shamelessly nicked from Sudhian)

Now these things are AWESOME!

what are they?

Just kidding.

Ah, got "Extra SSE boost OK" now.

Wonder what difference it will make.
It might keep Lamsey behind me for just a little bit longer.
Your ass is mine and you know it :P

Damn ,

My folding stopped for some reason.
None of my work get's completed anymore. at least 2 days of work down the drain.
Deleted my work folder many times now and started over....

Did i miss a update or something? :(

Each type has it's own core, that's the very thing that differentiates them.

I've got a core 79 on one machine and I'm pretty sure that's Dgromacs. Not sure what cores Ambers and QMDs use.

QMD cores may use up to 1GB of main memory (source), possibly even more, but they will only run on Intel chips.

Lamsey....look out, Linx will soon be overtaking you... :) You will have to add another processor I am afraid
He he, I've already got another processor waiting to go into service as soon as I've got my water cooling sorted out (and a little more space).

I'll even let you have a chance. I have taken one of my machines offline. :)

I was tempted to try out all this stuff but you people all scare me (specially with that thread in the lounge of "do you?" etc...,)

anyway - is it an automatic thing you just set your PC up for as I'd be more than willing to put all the PC's in this cyber cafe (in Thailand atm) onto it

The original explanation said you didn't need the "-forceasm" option because it would use it anyway if available.

Now that I've added that option I see "Extra 3DNow boost OK" in my log file which wasn't there before, so hopefully things should be working faster.
