to install, download the new core. close folding@home, and put the new core in the f@h folder, then run f@h again and it will use the new core for gromacs WU's

Thanks for that, I'll try it when I've reinstalled XP (AGAIN, damn NIS crap).

And I'll try it on linux tonight. :lol:

Edit: it's a total lemon, locked up my linux system almost immediately.

I didnt know using -advmethods would add speed, but I know that -forceasm does.

Just started on my computer:

Athlon XP 3200+ w/ 512mb RAM 24/7

Will start with my gf computer tommorrow:

Athlon XP 1900+ w/ 512mb RAM 24/7

And in a few days when I finished building it:

Athlon 64 3500+ w/ 1.5GB RAM (will be 24/7)

I just had a question on the 64 bit processors. I'm using the newest version (5.03??) and I was wondering, 64 bit processors obviously pass data faster, but would are they eligible for the Gromac tweak i was reading about?

I read about 30 pages of this thread, but I can't be assed to read another 14, it was just far to much...

Also I read on page 28 about making F@H a process, would this work to spike public computers to run this application automatically on windows start? I've got access to at least 10 computers that run non stop, with little to no process power used for 90% of the time. I doubt the owners would submit to this willingly, so I'd just spike them to run as a process that runs in the backroung without making itself known... What better way to put all that processing power to work than to use it for such a great cause!

I can't believe how many inactive members there are.

Don't know if this is a good idea...no one will ever catch lynx or virtual...

so...why not start a new team for members that have only one CPU ?

ur cpu is probably not stable at those speeds :01:

dowload Prime95 and test to see if the cpu is ok

just coz ive got more than one pc doesnt mean im a cheater. :edit: we seem to be slowing down a bit now, we need more folders.

i think 7th should put a subcontent on the main page. get more people in. since we are higher ranked mor epeople will be interesed i think.

Those temps are acceptable but there are a lot of factors. Room temperature, CPU load, Case ventilation etc.

the EOC stats have just been updated to conterbalance the new points changes recently made by stanford. see Here for details.

so looks like alot of people lost there colour the had.
and the team also lost its colour.

Ugh, im 13th.

Computer was down all day and last night, so lets hope some 24/7 duty will get me back on track, and as soon as my flash drive arrives, she is going to be putting F@H on a bunch of computers.
