Release Blunder? Message Begins
The Press Office has admitted a mix-up between two recent Press Releases
1) Alastair Darling: It takes true grit for me to be honest about admitting how much we are in debt and what we have to do to cut the deficit in half
2) Lord Adonis (Secretary of State for Transport): I'm making sure that gritting teams are out half the night clearing the nation's roads,
A spokesman for No 10 said that due to a communication mix-up (and some unfortunate mathematics) that road gritting had now been reduced by 25%. He went on to say that some people thought that this was important but as all the damage to motor vehicles would be picked up by insurers and of course in the end policy holders the Prime Minister was confident that the economic recovery was still on track,
Message ends.
