[ Uk ] Has the Nokia N95 been a flop or a success ?

Believe me guys i was on the fence also about this device, i bought it and realized the price factor a few days later, after i used the phone and the battery was getting to me, and the gps wasnt connecting at a good speed, now the battery although not great gets me thru the majority of the day,and this is listening to music for 3 straight hrs and talking for 3 straight hrs, taking few pics here and there, watching few movie previews, and then i get to my car after work and plug it in,and its good for the day.The gps also now only takes a minute or 2 to connect to satellite and lock my location in, ive never had it on my phone and i love it now, love the fact that i can be shopping and can just look at services and find the restuarants nearby or shops or post office ect... these things are invaluable when needed at the moment, iwas gonna return it and get the 8525 for cingular i can get it for 250 after rebates with my goverment discount, but i had the 8125 and hated the size, didnt like the fact that the ringtones didnt ring in my ear thru bluetooth, form factor ect... and i always loved nokia and symbian, i had the n73 loved it and its a good device, but much slower than the n95,and in terms of screen size my friend has the n73 and its a world of difference to n95, is the n95 worth 300 more its all relative, if u like the 3.5mm jack, voip calling, realplayer and video, wifi, usb transfer, and speed ide say yes.

Well Thetruth I have looked at the n95 for sometime now, and I have up to this point been a huge user of Sharp phones, the camera and videos on my 903sh are incredible, but as we all know the newer sharps cant be unlocked up to this point, so I am looking at getting the n95 by what you and others say it might be worth trying out, heck I can always sell it on ebay and get my money back out if I dont like it. The only thing is im not a real big fan of slider phones, have always like the flip guess I will have to way my options just not sure on the camera and how good it is compared to my sharp. Thanks for all the opinions and helpful advice may take the leap just not sure alot to spend to not be 100% sure!!

I never had a slider either this is my first one, its almost like a flip to me, call comes in slide it up it answers automatically, some peopel say phone feels cheap, i think its well made, its light not cheap has a nice feel for me that is, as for the sharp phones ive never had one and ive seen pics from it they look awesome. I dont know why many of us choose to veiw the pics from the n95 at 100% cant even see it on my 17" monitor way to big, and if veiwd at that level yes they dont look great, but when veiwed to fit screen they look excellent, sharp and detailed, here is a good site he did some nice picture reviews and videos and other things with phone hope it helps u.

Hey thanks I have to agree completely with you I love my sharp but I have had it now for 1 1/2 years want something new and this is the only thing out there that even remotely interests me. By chance is the video recorded in 30fps or 15fps??? I like all the other features it has to offer, will have to get one now and write my own review

I thinks that was very well put, I think Nokia really took there time with this phone, they made sure that it is ready for prime time. I'm surprised at how well it works. The battery life isn't that bad either. Look at some of the pther hyped phones that didn't even make it to market, Motorola MPx (300) anyone. For them to crom all these features in a tiny phone, and have a stable enough software to boot, you really have to give it up.

As a die hard WM mobile user, how is the functionality of the Nokia operating system compared to WM? I have been eyeing the Nokia E90 but having never used the symbian operating system don't want to end up with less functionality than WM (especially with WM6 due out shortly). Your comments are appreciated.

I personally am astounded by how many people own, or want to own, the N95. I think it is one of the biggest phone releases in recent time, and will become the new classic like the N73: almost everyone will use it as a primary, or a back-up. The phone is pretty much future proof..."what else can they possibly do?" -

Like I've said in previous post if only I can get my hotmail on S60 it wou;d be perfect. This is my first S60 phone, but i've owned all of the UIQ/Symbion phones. One thing i like about S60 compared to the crappy P990i is that it's not buggy (knocks on wood). I also prefer the Palm 750 messaging app, if they can come out with a threading messaging app that would be so much better. One thing that I miss the most that was in WM is the word compleation, I text and e-mail a bunch, and sometimes when your spelling long words it's good to have a word compleation handy. Other then that the features that are in the N95 are just incredible. The size and weight of the phone is perfect. The battery is fine, cause i am use to having to charge my phones everynight. I'm really surprised at how many apps their are in this phone also. It's just one of those that you can have for a very long time.

So generally the phone is a hit for peeps yeah ?

I am not really talking about sales figures, Im talking about peoples personal feeling on the phone, sometimes the general perception of things speaks better, as we all dont have access to sales figures / reports ?

How is it a few weeks on for peeps that have got the phone ?

Does it live up to the hype ?

Are you planning on keeping this as a long term primary ?

Does the battery issue, sour the deal for you ?

How long before the n95i ?

My suggestion is to use a cheap S60 3rd edition (E60, E50,...) and see if you like the layout. If you like, then look forward to the E90. You don't want to buy a $1k phone and regret it.

Sweet even more of a bonus, I just asked this question in another thread but what the hey what is the difference in the euro version and the apac version???
