My laptop froze as soon as I loaded it. I tried to use cntl+alt+delete to get the task manager up (so I could shut down), but that didn't work.
So I removed the battery to get it to shut down!!
When I loaded it again, it started "scanning files." After it was done with that, there was a message that came up repeatedly: "retrieving orphaned file blah blah blah" over and over again!
Am I screwed? Should I try removing the battery again? My laptop looks possessed! There's a really important file on my laptop that I haven't backed up in a long time!
