UGC/Cineworld unlimited card- Inside knowledge?

I was sent a letter sometime ago saying that my card would be accepted at Cinemworld cinemas, before the announcement was made that there would be a change from UGC cinemas to Cineworld ones. Also the price increase is to

I got no letter whatsoever. I discovered the buying and selling of these cinemas and chains by noticing the livery change on my UGC and then researching on the internet! Why was I told literally nothing?

I asked a guy in the box office AND emailed cineworld who both said no decision had been made but you get a letter saying all Cineworld screens will take it?

All I want is the solid truth. Hopefully from the company.

a price increase wouldnt bother me it could go to 30 quid would still be woth it to me as im a cinema junkie i tend to go at least 20 times a month

I think the majority of people who have the Unlimited card are cinema junkies who tend to go to watch the most of the films that are released each week!

They have changed my local UGC in Cardiff to a Cineworld and I have never had any problems bringing pop into the cinema. As that is what I normally do as I am not paying for pop in the cinema as it is a waste of money!
I cant understand how you can make a loss on a unlimited card as you only have to go twice a month to make your money back so if you dont go twice a month then there is not much point getting the card in the first place!

I use it to see (apart from stuff I would see anyway) "risky" films that i wouldn't want to spend nearly a tenner to see because either the reviews are mixed or I have heard good things but it isn't necessarily my type of film.

Plus, if a film's crap, you can walk out halfway through and go and see something else! :)

I have read the above with interest. I do not have the unlimited card but have thought about getting one as it seems a great idea to be able to go whenever I like and not worry about the cost.
Anyway I checked out the UGC/Cineworld web page and the card is advertised as others have said for

Yeah you are right as it is the same with me as I will go and see a film even if it has had a bad review just to judge it for myself. However I have been to see some real rubbish film over the years but I have never walked out!
I have had my Unlimited card for about 3 years now so I must have saved a lot of money over that time. Me and my frienRAB have sometimes even just spend all day watching about about 3 or 4 films in one day!

I think it's a great way to spend a free day, especially if it's raining. For me, due to my geography, thise days look like ending. Dammit.

well im still paying 9.99 for my card as in the terms and conditions it says "the subscription feee for the unlimited card for the initial period is a fixed amount"

so for my card to go up,they would have to send me revised t&Cs and i would have to sign them, until my 12 months is up

Hi
I'm a manager for a ex-ugc cinema. The state of play for the unlimited carRAB is:

  • All ex-UGC still to accept card

No price increase for a while. (
