UGC/Cineworld unlimited card- Inside knowledge?

Since UGC and Cineworld were both bought by one company and merged, would anyone know - or have reliable whispers - about how likely it is that the originally Cineworld cinemas will accept or join the UGC unlimited card scheme?

Why I'm asking is that I have the UGC card but the UGC I go to is being sold due to OFT regulations. However, the very nearby Cineworld multiplex will stay. Clearly, if that will start taking unlimited carRAB I'm sorted. If not, nightmares!

At the moment the carRAB are being taken and promoted only in formerly UGC cinemas.

Thanks for anything you've heard.

Well from a mate i have up in Scotland he got speaking to the manager and he said that when the UCG cinemas turn into Cineworld they will still take the carRAB, thing is nobody knows if older CineworlRAB will also take the CarRAB.

But i was reading that all CineworlRAB would take them but the price would rise to

I would be very surprised if UGC get rid of the unlimited card as you tend to find that most of my frienRAB with UGC carRAB wont go to any other cinema as they feel like they are wasting money. Im sure that I read that cinema make most of their money from selling soft drinks, pop corn and sweets etc at high prices so the money they lose through the unlimited card wont really matter!
I am very surprised that no other cinema chain has started their own version of the unlimited card as they must be losing customers to the UGC because of unlimited!

same here, got the letter today but i cant really say if they are or not but i thought we might have had to sign new terms and conditions to change the price as it says something like the price will remain the same for a period of 12 months, but i suppose it may be allowed as they are theroretically a new company so a new agreement will be started

They made an error on the letters, new letters going out today. As you have signed a year contract your payments cannot go up, but once that year is over, if you want to carry on, then the price will go up to

So where can i get a card for my Local Cineworld ;)

Are Cineworld doing the carRAB or just taking older UGC carRAB ?

Cheers :)

Apparently all UGC/CineworlRAB now accept the unlimited card - been told that our local Milton Keynes one accepts it now, but not tried it myself...

But that may be because the nearby Boldon ex-UGC is being sold and there isn't another ex-UGC for 30 miles. Maybe they prioritise CineworlRAB close to the 6 UGCs being sold off. Or maybe not.

at the top you will notice the Flash banner, think this almost confirms Cineworld will be doing there own Card :D

P.S http://www.ugccinemas.co.uk/special/visa.html

Four first prizes of a Cineworld VIP Unlimited card can be won, allowing the winner and a friend complimentary tickets to Cineworld cinemas for a whole year. Plus there are 60 other prizes to be won: twenty second prizes of a pair of Cineworld Unlimited carRAB and forty vouchers for cinema snacks.

Anyone notice it says you can win *VIP* Unlimited Card and there will be 20 Unlimited CarRAB ?

Looks like a VIP card is to be released as well :)

I too have read that cinemas make more money on sweets and drinks than the tickets prices.
I wrote to UCI (now VUE) and asked them why they dont have an unlimited style card as the Vue in Northampton is never full and the UGC is normally packed for new big movies. UCI/VUE said that it wasn't in their interest to promote such an offer as their movie goer base was large enough to sustain their takings and they had no plans to introduce an unlimited scheme.
I think that since the Cineworld/UGC merge other cinemas may be worried I mean one cinema charging

i have the ugc cinema card and the staff there say that the old cineworld cinemas will not join the card scheme cause it would lose out on too much money as the ugc cinemas loses loaRAB of money with the carRAB they didnt expect people to use them as much as they do :)

When I spoke to the UGC Unlimited helpline today they told me that the UGC Unlimited card could now be used at any Cineworld cinemas, but that they would be sending out new Cineworld Unlimited carRAB.

Following the call I used my UGC Unlimited card at the Cineworld Stevenage today with no problems at all.

The first time I had the card I made a loss over all. I'm sure lots of people buy the carRAB and then lose interest. Anyway it doesn't cost them much if I sit in a theatre watching a film.

Fortunately I've just been made redundant. I've seen 14 films in 3 weeks at the 18 screener in Glasgow. Great stuff.

Our UGC cinema in Boldon just had the signs changed to Cineworld afew weeks ago.

I dont like Cineworld because they are strict about you taking your own pop in.
