summer last summer, so far? List your top BUST signings so far.

Which GM did the most for his team?
Homes- you only feel bad 'cause I am awarding a years supply of free liquor to the Best Answer of this Q
Khabibulin ??? (7-9-2 over a 3GAA)
Komisarek ???( 21 games (-8) 4.5mil cap hit)

Lucic ??? ( he still makes 850K this season) but since his extension to "4mil a season" ....nothing accomplished!

BUSTS: Kovalev(OTT) and Laperriere(PHI) have not been playing up to their standards. Florida got fooled into thinking Scott Clemmensen was a 1A goalie, and Francois Beauchemin is just starting to hit his groove.

On the other hand, Mike Grier(BUF), and Marc-Andre Bergeron (MTL) have been pleasant surprises for their respective teams - (although MAB gets way too much flack from Habs fans) - Max Afinogenov is looking like a steal for Atlanta and both Vinny Prospal(NYR) and Brendan Morrison(WAS) are proving they still have lots of gas left in their tanks. And of course, Gaborik(NYR) has been phenomenal.

Personally, i think the GM that has done the most for his team has to be Don Waddell, easily.
Signing Antropov and Afinogenov, drafting Evander Kane, acquiring Pavel Kubina and offensive prospect Tim Stapleton for the expiring and expendable Garnett Exelby - all really great moves. Plus, his waiver claim of Richard Peverley is looking to be one of the best moves in the NHL in the past calendar year.

The Thrashers are currently 6th in the East, 2nd in their division, and on pace for at least 100 points. That is a large improvement from their 76 points of last season.

The only thing he needs to do now is sign Ilya Kovalchuk long-term. :P

#1 has definitely got to be Havlat. He was brought into Minnesota to replace Marian Gaborik, who signed with the New York Rangers. He is not even close to doing what Gaborik did last year. My second would probably be Ray Emery of the Philedelphia Flyers. Emery isn't playing horrible, but Philly expected a lot more out of him than they are getting. And now he's out for six weeks for his abdominal surgery he is having today. My third is probably Saku Koivu. Yes he's having a decent year, but just like Emery, The Aneheim Ducks expected big things to come from him and his fellow Fin and linemate Teemu Selanne. The Ducks had a weakness in their secondary scoring and Koivu was brought in from Montreal to fill that gaping hole on their second line.
As for the wisest Gm, there are a lot of names to consider. Some might say Bob Gainey was wise and some might say reckless, but last year, Montreal finished 8th in the Eastern confrence. Even with the new stacked talent, the Montreal Canadiens, as of TODAY, are again 8th in the conference. The wisest GM, in my opinion, is the Gm of the New York Rangers. I admit that I don't know the name right now, but he was pretty wise in signing Marian Gaborik. He is the leading scorer for the New York Rangers and the leading goal scorer in the entire LEAGUE right now. I'm very impressed.

Thank you for reading.

The biggest bust is definitely havlat. the wisest GM is Atlantas. Don Waddel i think? Peverley and afinogenov were signed to very affordable deals and they are both playing well.
