UDMH and Palm TX

Hi!

Ok, this is my first message here... (I've pasted this message from my first one in palmpowerups..., so sorry for the anoyances for reading it twice or more ).

Some days ago I've downloaded and instaled UDMH in my TX..., I saw that version was 3, is it possible??

The question is that, I've tested the tool, and finally uninstalled it form my PDA, till here all is Ok.

But yesterday while trying to sync whit my PC, the TX got frozen and I had to do SoftReset..., and thill then,...., It keeps "sofreseting" once and another in an inifinte loop!!!!

I've tried a HardReset, and it doesn't work..., it ask me to erase all the data, but when I answer YES to the question, the TX keeps in it SoftReset loop, no HardReset at all.

I've waited till battery was empty, but nothig has changed.

Is there a possibility that the version 3 of UDMH had corrupted the hidden NVFS where the OS is compressed?, any idea?, maybe this is not a problem of UDMH, but I've heard about some TX being damages by this program.

Thanks a lot..., and I'm wondering how could I got an old version of UDMH...

If you have done a true hard reset where you are erasing all data and you then still get this "loop" then you are goofed. How would you install anything else? such as the older version.

Unfortunately running the battery down on a TX will do nothing since it is NVFS.

You might try another hard reset and if you are confident that you are doing it correctly - that is holding down the power key and when prompted by the screen to erase all data you hit up on the dpad, and it then goes back into the perpetual reset loop......it's now a brick. And you'll have to send it to Palm for repair.

Not what you wanted to hear but I've never seen a device do what you are saying unless it was toast.

Hi.

Yes, I follow the steps to do the HArdReset, and I get the Message that prompts me to press the "Up" button to erase all the data, but when I press that button, it keeps doing de SoftReset loop.

I've tried any other button to answer the Erase-All question (just in case it works), but the same result was given.

Another related question..., have you heard about "Zero Out Reset", Palm mention it here:

http://kb.palmone.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE?New,Kb=PalmSupportKB,ts=Palm_External2001,Case=obj(887)

But it seems to work only in T5 and Treo 650 (both NVFS units), and I was wondering if it could be fine for my TX.

Thanks again.

Hi!

I've done it...., the second version of course, and I'm just waiting the "10" minutes till the Palm wake up, since now is completely dead and I don't want to touch anything...

It's supposed to wake up alone, isn't it?, or must I do a soft reset to wake it up?

Thanks again.

Hi agian... :( :( :( , didn't work at first try..., finally I had to softreset to wake the pda up, and it started again with the reset-loop...,

Just trying again...

Thanks
