U2 3D here we go!

should be interesting - the whole 3D thing seems to come round every few years, but never really be much better than the last time.

but if anyone's got the cash and the creative vision needed to through at it, it's U2!

I find it strange that no one wanted to discuss what is in effect the first ever full length digital 3D movie, this really is the future in cinema:confused:

Saw it on Monday in IMAX - very impressive. The 3D and sound really immerses you and you hardly notice it's several gigs stitched together plus some studio recordings (where it's obvious Bono was told to wave stuff in front of the camera because it would look cool).
If you can't bear Bono in 'unite the world' mode though, you might want to give it a miss ;-).

3D has never taken off before because you never used to be able to tell if it worked until the film was printed - by that time you could have wasted a lot of money and time and find that the two cameras were out by a few mm.

These days with digital capture they can get it right pretty much first time round and can sort out any problems before it's to late. This year, and next, is supposed to be when 3D comes of age and becomes popular for good this time.
