The Democrats blame their loss on Florida when in reality they should look to Al Gore losing his home state of Tennessee and losing the electoral vote of Bill Clinton's home state of Arkansas. If Gore had won either state, Florida would have been a moot point and Al Gore would have been president. I guess the folks back home knew something that the rest of the nation did not know. Back in Tennessee, Al Gore's uncle and political mentor, Whit LaFon, was under indictment for drug running the same time his nephew was running for president. Arkansas was still smarting from their homeboy disgracing the Oval Office with his impeachment over lying about his affair with an intern not much older than daughter Chelsea.
Al Gore should have stuck to his first concession and saved the taxpayers a lot of money - Recount after recount and after the Supreme Court ruling, another long and complete recount still had Al Gore as the loser.
