Hi, I just got a TX, its my first ever PDA so i am a newbie.

I am having a problem,

I want to check my yahoo mail from my PDA when i am at work, but I need
to be able to mark some of the emails I check as unread so I can check them
again later from my house.

The yahoo mail for PDA users doesnt have any way that I can mark emails as
unread, so I thought I could go to the normal yahoomail website for PC users, and just check my email through there, and it would just display crappy, but atleast I would be able to mark my emails as unread.

The problem is, whenever i sign in, it automatically redirects me to the page
formatted for PDAs which doesnt have a 'mark as unread' option. Is there any way to get around this? or any way that I can mark my emails as unread on yahoo with my PDA.

Thanks

shizizzle,

I may be wrong, but it sounds as though you're accessing the Yahoo mail by logging into the Yahoo mail page using a web browser (presumably Blazer). However, you don't need to do this. An email programme such as Versamail can be configured to access Yahoo mail. I use Agendus mail on a T5 to access my Yahoo mail quite successfully. Agendus mail (and I assume versa mail too) offers the option to leave mail on the server. This means that when you check your mail from home, new messages will still appear unread.

HI, Yes I am using Blazer to try and access it.

I thought that you had to pay yahoo to have POP access, or is there another way that you can use Versamail or Agendus mail to access your yahoo account?

Thanks

Set up Versamail with a new account, don't use the default Versamail as it will think you want to sync to Outlook.

The lastest edition of versamail should show you the setup for a Yahoo account and you'll just need to plug in your username and password.

shizizzle,

After a little investigation it appears that there is a difference between yahoo.com and yahoo.co.uk. Being in the UK, I use a yahoo.co.uk email account and access via pop is free. It appears that if you have an email account through yahoo.com it is not and you have to purchase the premier service. I was not aware of this.

yea I just tried this today, and it only works with the yahoo paid service.

So,

Could someone tell me how I could view the regular yahoomail website and not the PDA version of it, because if I can view the regular version on my PDA, sure it will suck that I will have to scroll alot to read my emails, but atleast I can mark them as unread.

Thanks

Shizizzle I don't understand one thing. When I read my email from yahoo on my tx, it turns from blue to grey meaning grey has been read and blue has not been read yet. This is the PDA-BLAZER version of yahoo. Also, the pda subject line is bold if you have not read it, then it becomes a normal font once it has been opened. I did a test with laptop on lap and pda in hand. I send a message from laptop to myself. PDA and laptop received it in about two seconds. I tapped the pda subject line and it went from blue to grey and bold to normal font. At the same time my laptop yahoo indicated the message was read by going from bold to normal font. Seems to work okay for me so it should work okay for you. I have tried to replicate your problem but I can't. I do not subscribe to yahoo as a premium service, I just use it as a convenient mailbox and it has always worked fine on the tx.

I think there was a misunderstanding.

When I have a new email in my yahoo account, and I click on the email using my PDA, I want to be able to make the email show as Bold (Unread) again for when I check the email with my desktop.

There is no 'mark as unread' button or link to click on in the PDA version of yahoomail.

So, how can I get to the non-PDA version of yahoomail since this is the only place that has a 'mark as unread' link in the emails.
