The left two are 'find' and 'menu'. The right two are 'move writing screen' and 'change to landscape'. Are you saying that the five others don't work or does the 'time' button give you the battery satus etc? The other four buttons are subtle and may need to be set up. The most right of these allows you to write anywhere on the screen. If you have third party sw it may disable this. If not, try writing a MEMO with it on & off. The next two buttons are for wifi and blue tooth. Do you have them set up and have access to net or a BT phone. These just turn the feature on/off so you may not see anything except a lit-up icon. The most left of these four is for an alarm. Is the TX setup to a new alarm? Also some third party calenders use this instead.
If these five don't really work, try a hard reset without third party sw. If they still don't work send it back.
