Tx and Versamail ATTACHMENTS

I have had issues sync my Tx and these have all been fixed by the star of stars Mouseman, my only issue now is my versamail attachments do not come to the Tx.

I have deleted all email on Tx and then created a new account for versamail to sync with and sync, and all the emailsin my inbox came over again but not attachments still.

If i select an attachmeny on my Tx it soft resets every attachment I select.

any thoughts please
 
Ok, here are two screen shots of the conduit setup. Check these that you are configured properly based upon the settings as noted via the red arrows.

You should have the option under "conversion" for Docs To Go if you've enabled the conduits. My screen captures show "nothing" because I don't sync email.

Also - check the 50kb limit and perhaps increase it - especially if you have large emails as the attachment will get trunicated no matter what if the email body itself is more than 50kb. If it is - tell your bosses to stop sending 9 page emails so that you can get on with your life. :)

EDIT: I know they don't have Moose in Australia - and if you get the name wrong, I probably won't want to come and visit. :D and collect all the Fosters that you owe me. :)
 
it brings up a different menu, nothing like you kind screen shots, the menu i have is set correctly, so maybe i have a later version.

what else could i do please
 
Well the T5 and the TX's settings are apparently different.

I try reinstalling the Documents to Go to the handheld. Launch DTG and from the Help menu - have the program reinstall the applications and then see what happens.
 
ok tried lots and everything, still no luck, removed versamail and documents from Tx, removed Documents from Desktop.

Sync Tx without Documents and Versamail, so that backup did NOT have them.

Did Hard reset of Tx then did hot sync with all conjuct off, then loaded Documents to go via a fresh install of it,

Then removed majority of my Desktop inbox, and did a sync with Versaamail, all emails came accrss BUT still if i top an attachment it Tx does a soft reset and no attachment is open,

So there must be some corruption in a file on tx Tx that even when i Delet Veralmail and doctogo, still backs then when i do a hard reset it re installes and continues to create the issue.

I think some of the MMconduit-asc6, MMConfigFPI
MMHTMLPlugin,MMNotify, MMSDCard, ETc one of them is corrupted, thats why it soft reset everytime even though, there has been a full rebuild.


What next please
 
Versamail used to be called multimail so leave any conduits or programs intact that are "MM" in origin or name. This is a carry over so that upgrades still work.

I am at a loss of anything more other than to say that some corruption of a file might be a potential issue. Since you've done hard resets etc - normally this would have fixed the issue.

The only other suggestion - hard reset - create a new user name so that none of your data comes over. Sync "blank" to the device. Then bring over one attachment via versamail to this "blank" device and see what happens.

If there is a failure - then the device is the issue. If there is no failure then you've got something corrupt - and that can only be eliminated by step by step file installation.
 
i think my MM files application are corructed, as i did have a message once early in this process, that highlighted this,

how do i get fresh MM files applications onto the Tx, i know the hard reset gives new versamail does it give new MM, I am sure its an MM issue
 
A hard reset should reestablish good MM files but be certain to delete them from any backup's you have as they have a tendency to use the existing files to save settings etc.
 
can i get them onto the palm without a hard reset as that is such a big task then re doing passwords and registrations. I can easily remove them with FileZ and you can tell me how to get them onboard again maybe.

but this happened before whilst i had the the memo issue, and then i did a hard reset, and it stillhappened whilst i rebuild the Tx.

So if I hard reset it how do i stop it getting the backup that is corropted from coming back
 
On the PC delete the files in the backup folder that have the names of either versamail or MM in them. Actually, instead of deleting them - just move them to a temporary folder but get them out of the backup folder before you preform the hotsync after the hard reset.
 
Some have had luck with Versamail. Me...never, buggy, messages re show up after deleting, can't get attachments, and on and on. You need to switch to Snappermail. After the initial cash outlay (kind of painful) Snapper just works. It's solid, it's robust, it just does everything like it supposed to.

Two years ago I was convinced I could get versamail working like I wanted on a Treo 600 and 650. Gave up. Been using snappermail since. 6 months ago I bought a new TX, thought aha, now Versamail, newer version, improvements made, will work. (Still junk). Back to snapper.
