Two-tiered upload system?

How about a split uploading system where we could control the number of large files AND the number small files uploading. A slider control could be introduced allowing us to differentiate between large and small files. I have many smaller files that would upload quickly if I didn't have six people uploading 50+ mb files all at the same time. This could help gnutella a lot, especially dial-up users who look for smaller files.

Don't do this because people would only limit other people from downloading stuff and that HURTS the sharing process the newer clients know whats best for the network so don't do this

there is a point of too much control for stupid people not saying people who use Gnutella are stupid but quite the oppsite be careful to the network please. (-: its cool.

P.S

take into carful consideration what you do to the clients
what you do is adopted very quickly it could have devistating effects on the network.

This would shift resources from greedy broadband users to slower dial-up users. It would allow many more smaller files to be shared. Since it could be completely user-configurable, you wouldn't have to take advantage of it. I bet it would help the little guys a LOT more than it would hurt the greedy power users. It would also have the effect of reminding people that gnutella is about sharing!

... are providing the BANDWIDTH upon which this network depends!
Modem users (such as myself, for the time being) cannot expedite any searches effectively, as we are confined to the outer reaches of GnutellaNet
