is it possible to have 2 BB's on the same account? i mean only one of the phones would actually have to work as a phone. i just want to share data between the 2. what would the plan be?

Do you mean you want two BlackBerry to have same email address, same incoming emails, etc and same phone number, so both BlackBerry will rings at same time and one will have to answer the call? The answer is no, each BlackBerry has its own PIN therefore PIN requires its own email address.
I am not exactly sure about phone number -- it may be possible -- but I can say it is possible if you have Vonage and set two BlackBerry's phone number to ring if someone calls your Vonage phone number. Hope this helps.

I want to be clear that I'm referring to BlackBerry email addresses such as @tmo.blackberry.net, etc...
However, you could set up your external email address (such as Yahoo!) on both device and get both of them if you set your Yahoo! server to forward the email received thru Yahoo! account to both BlackBerries.

I think (not too sure cause I never really pay attention) but total it's between $130-$145 total (taxes, surcharges, blah blah).
Thats with two SEPERATE lines, 1500 any time minutes shared between the two different numbers, BIS data service on both of them, and unlimited text/mms messaging on both lines.
I don't believe in phone insurance so that would be a little more if you went with it.

Does it mean that if you use the 8700 for a day, then use the 8100 the next, that when you transfer the SIM, all the emails you didn't get on the 8100 because it was effectively turned off, then get delivered?
When I swapping between my 7130 and 8100, I only had 1 BIS account, and after swapping the SIM, I would log in to BIS and change the PIN on the account. That method was effortless and painless, and only took about 30 seconds.

Nah...the 8100 has 4 email addys running through it and the 8700 has 4 different emails running to it...
As far as the emails getting backlogged, I don't have that...Here's what happens when I do that.
Sometimes I will put the sim from the 8700 in the 7290 if I am needing to try something that I need data for. WELLLL, as soon as I register it on the network or try and use the browser, all of a sudden all the emails that route to the 8700, start coming through to the 7290 inboxes.
SO, that leads me to believe that the email addresses correspond to the SIM cards, and not the actual pins?
Only problem that I would encounter every once and a while, is that when I transferred the SIM back into the 8700, sometimes the email would be stuck on the 7290 and even a "Register now" wouldn't work and I would have to go onto the site or call and have them resend the service books.

With Rogers and their BIS, the SIM is irrelevant, as long as it has a BlackBerry Data Plan on the SIM, it will enable data on anthing, BlackBerry or otherwise.
However, if I swap it into another BlackBerry, I still must sign into BIS and "change my handheld". If done on the BlackBerry the BIS-wap knows and asks and I don't even need to type in the PIN.
However, that "register now" thing that the T Mobile users are always talking about doesn't exist or doesn't work for Rogers.
It's all just very interesting!

Hey I'm a little late for this discussion but here is how it works. You cannot have the same number on any two phones because in order for your phone to function you need to have a simcard in it, and only one number can be attached to one sim card (because imagine if more than one number can be attached to a sim card, then anybody can put a number on your sim number and YOU would get charge for it) now if you really need to have two bb's just switch sim card and then once its done go to tmobile.com, log in and go to set up my internet email. As long as your sim cartd is on the other phone it will ask you if you want to switch from one pin to the next and then you can do host routing table.
