TV shows you think should be axed

Don't forget all those auction shows like Cash In The Attic :yawn: Unfortunately mum's a fan of those shows so I've sat through them a few times and found them so boring.
 
Get rid of ALL reality shows. Unfortunately, this would leave so little to broadcast that we would return to the potter's wheel for much of the day/night.

Get rid of all biased and uninformed opinions on the news and only report FACTS and let the viewer decide what to make of them.

Sport could go too but as so many people enjoy it I would tolerate it ... just!
 
The Weakest Link was past its sell-by date half a decade ago and I agree that Deal Or No Deal has lost its shine. Take Me Out, as cheesy as it is, happens to be a guilty pleasure of mine so I'm glad that's back for a second series :o.
 
I'd gladly get rid of the following:

All sports programmes
All shows involving Simon Cowell
All soaps other than Coronation Street
All foreign programmes especially the garbage from the USA, Australia and New Zealand with the exception of Wife Swap and Supernanny
All the drivel currently shown on ITV2 especially the fly-on-the-wall stuff about so called celebrities (Katie Price, Kerry Katona etc)
Constant repeats of old comedies such as Morecambe and Wise and Only Fools and Horses (especially at Christmas)
All medical dramas such as Casualty and Holby City
Wallis & Gromit
Creature Comforts
Hole In the Wall
Total Wipeout
Top Gear
Never Mind The Buzzcocks
Eggheads
Who Wants To Be A Millionnaire
Dr Who
Merlin
Desperate Housewives

There are probably many more that I would get rid of but these are the ones that currently spring to mind.
 
The problem isn't the shows, although I could add almost all tripe that is on the terrestrial channels. Eastenders and Coronation Street being the biggest load of drivel their is. Its just one none story after another. Its like pantomime for washed up actors who don't know when to quit.

The problem is there are simply too many channels, too many time slots that are needed to be filled. Each and every channel are competing with each other for time slots, And so each and every one goes for something different hoping to hit the nail on the head for viewing figures. What we end up with is not one or two channels of constant cack, but many of them.

I would axe many of the channels on offer. All it does is give providers like SKY or Virgin an excuse to charge you more for the channels you are getting. Many of which you will never watch in your lifetime as it just isn't interesting. Limit the channels, reduce the cost, and lets get back to basics. Producing quality viewing and earning the right to be on tv rather than produce constant tripe on the many channels you have a chance to get on.
 
I'd axe the following:

Who Want to be a Millionaire (past it's sell by date)
The Weakest Link (ditto)
Deal or No Deal (ditto)

and not axe as such but I would have a non celeb Family Fortunes and keep the celeb ones for special occasions such as Christmas.
 
Yes! Definately get rid of that one before anything else.

It's depressing fellow human beings came up with that.

The opening sequence alone is enough to make me think I'm living in my own personal hell.
