Tv problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

i have a sony 40 or 42 inch and it seems to go into "wide screen" and i want it to be full and it only does that when i play video games like mw2 why does it do that it takes lkke 4 inches of top and bottom so its not that bothering but i want the whole screen not wide screen and also it always says video 2 and it wont go away thanks
