The other day I connected my desktop computer to my TV (a rather old CRT) via an s-video/s-video cable for the first time. The devices weren't even configured properly at first and I didn't get anything on the TV. After disconnecting the cable, I noticed a kind of flickering set in to the image on all TV channels. The best I can describe it as is a constant, subtle flickering of horizontal lines across the entire screen. It doesn't make parts of the image go dark or distort it, but is clearly visible, especially on bright-colored backgrounds. My question: what is this and how do I get rid of it? My best "stab in the dark" guess is that I made the TV run at my monitor's refresh rate (60 Hz) but I tend to be clueless when it comes to hardware.
