Well, I tried the Google Maps process, darn I hate switching out SIM cards. Took me all of 6 minutes to get up an running.

my question is, how do you know if it works? i could possibly be sent a hefty bill at the end of the month
 
Good question! I was thinking the same thing but what I did was try to connect with my regular internet and the regular maps program. I realized I couldn't get on with those programs because it said I needed an internet connection so I assume my internet is blocked because I don't have a data plan. I hope that translates into no extra charges but so far, no one else has been getting charged
 
I don't think there is a scientific reason for it happening, it happens to everyone. Earlier in this thread someone asked the same thing. But for free internet, I'll do a battery pull twice a day haha

i cant get google maps to work.. i loaded it 3 times on my 8310.. 1st when i had full 60meg data service and twice off a friends sim card.. did batt pulls.. everytime i try to use it it gives me a message.. "no data service" .. and wont load any maps.. i downloaded ver: 2.0.3 .. i'm out of ideas.. anyhelp would really be great..
 
does anyone know the im+ connection settings under the app?
or do i juss the autoconfig app within? mine is setup to http over wap connection is this right??
 
Ya I got the same problem. Having to pull the battery ever day or so. I have Opera Mini and Google Talk working just fine, but cannot seem to get Google Maps to work, any ideas?
 
i have been able to get the weathereye network working on my berry with the rogers $15 plan its awesome!!!

Yea I also have a problem getting Google maps to work, i had it when I was on a data plan
And once I switched to the $15 dollar plan it stopped working
No biggie on my old 8100 but Now on my fancy new 8310 i'd love to get it working again..........
