I saw the ad on usedottawa and drove straight there. In the 20 min it took me the guy had 17 emails. And just after I handed over the cash, two other guys showed up. I was lucky!

hey,
i just bought my first blackberry (curve 8310), and have the $15 rogers plan.
i got opera, windows live, and gtalk working.
the only problem i have though is with opera. no website detects me as being on a blackberry (mobile.blackberry.com, etc). basically i can't install any applications OTA now because every website tells me the sites are meant for mobile devices.
any one have the same problem, or even a solution?

Go to www.operamini.com and use the download to PC link, then install using Desktop Manager.

EDIT: Sorry, misread your question .

yep lol dont worry about it. As if im not even using a blackberry anymore and still helping out fellow stackers !! Hurray Me !!

What happened to your BB?

Just now, looking over the add wireless essentials on the Rogers website, I no longer see Personal Email BB Plan available...although it is ticked for me under Misc since I had it already, and says no description is available. There is only Blackberry Service 1.5MB available for 15. I'm just wondering if I remove the Personal email, and re-add it later on like a month or so, it won't be available anymore, eek! Do you guys see the options for it, if you're not on the Personal Email BB plan?

Oh, you can still get it. I just got my blackberry yesterday. Its not advertised anymore; in place they've started advertising the 1.5mb $15 plan which focuses on the facebook application more than anything else.

Great to hear that, what a relief. I still have some choice left. Thanks for the heads up, guess I'll have to call Rogers to get it added if I remove it.

what happened to my bb ? Well went to treo750 to try then back to iPhone which I had before my curve. But yeah I'll stick around. Love the community here

Has anyone tried sharing the Facebook application service book with someone who's on the $15 plan? Seems as though that service book is all one would need to use the application with the plan...

From what I understand, Facebook doesn't have a Service Book. When I was using my generic 10MB/$10 plan I used the Facebook Application all the time without having a service book--but I didn't get notifications because I didn't have Push E-Mail! But hey...if you gurus out there get it working I would love to partake!

Odd. I was talking to a friend on a normal rogers BB data plan ($40) this morning, who confirmed that there was a service book named "Facebook" on their curve. It's my understanding that some carriers have been using the service book to push the Facebook app onto devices as well, coming from other threads on pinstack.

Edit: I stand corrected. It seems the service book is used for just that: pushing the app out to people. It seems to have nothing to do with the actual connection between your BB and Facebook. Oh well, was worth a shot.

yeah basically you guys are outta luck because i believe there is no desktop installation for facebook is there ? if there is somebody should just give it a shot
