Turtle Beach Headset Help Mic?

Ok i bought the turtle beach headset x1 a few months ago it works fine with my xbox360 but when i plug the green cable in the green thing on my commputer and the pink plug in the pink thing on my commputer the sound works but when i try to use my mic nothing.When i go to mic on the sounds setting i selected Microphone for my mic and Speakers for my speakers and still nothing they both fall under Realtek AC'97 Audio Working plz help.
Ohh i forgot i use x64 Vista
 
right click on your speaker go to options then properties in there or options again tic or un tic the Microphone and take the Mute setting off, if you have set your sound to 7.1 you may not have a Mic input go to 5.1 or just Stereo in the Multi Media setting under Control Panel.
