Turn Watts Down On Kicker 08ZX1000.1 Amp?

Well, I recently blow my subs (realizing that they only need 300watts) and well my amp has a power of 1000watts. I have two 12" Comp Kicker subs. So I'm not exactly how to turn down the amp to the proper wattage to get it so I don't blow my subs again. By the way, the subs are being replaced free of cost

when you get them installed again in the box make sure that they are wired series that way you get a high ohm load and you put less power in as if you were to before
