turn on phone when call comes in

Hi,
New to android phones. I have the Evo which is probably not relevant to the issue. when the phone rings, I have to press the power button then slide down the unlock ui thing. I would like it if when the phone rings the screen lights up and I can just slide down the unlock and/or see who is calling. you know "like the iphone" . I've searched the settings and am unable to find any way to do this.
Thanks,
Raif

Don't know much about the Evo, but I've never seen an Android phone that didn't light up and give you a call screen when it started ringing. The issue you are describing I have never heard of. Maybe it's something in the new version of Sense UI...weird.

I have a Nexus One and when the phone rings it automatically brings up the phone screen to either answer the call or ignore it. Didn't have to set anything up. Maybe some one with an EVO will chime in shortly.

I agree with the above two posts. When my phone rings I see the caller's name/number, and their picture if I have one set. Don't have to press anything to turn the screen on.

The Evo has the same verison of Sense as the Desire and the Incredible. Can anyone with either of those two phones confirm this or not?

I have the HTC incredible and my phone does not behave that way.

When I get a call, the screen lights up and I slide down on the screen to answer. I only need to press the power button if I want to reject the call.

I assume you have tried pulling the battery to make sure it isn't something that crashed and didn't restart?

Don't be sorry, that's what we're here for - glad we found a solution and it'll be useful if anyone else is looking for a fix to this problem.
