Turn a Classic into a classic

Whiskers: Hey, that is a GREAT quote. 'God created the Road King Classic on the 6th day.' Is it registered with the Library of Congress?
If you don't object I may borrow it from time to time.
I have fringe on grips and levers. I have the chrome plated 'Concho' fender skirt (I bent the original aluminum one practicing slow speed manuevers) Have not ridden a bike in 40 years so I need lots of practice.
Have 'Chilowee' (sp.) engine guard covers and saddle bag covers with chrome studs. Changed my tail/brake/signals to all red and all brake. It is my opinion (and some friends) that the "classic" can take some mods that
other bikes cannot.
This is one Terrific thred. What BEAUTIFUL scoots and what Grand ideas riders have on getting a custom retro look.
As for photos...well, no digital camera here. Took some nice photos with 35mm camera but have to scan them through printer and do not know yet how to attach and have them show up here. Will take time and it may not happen until I return to my summer place in the Catskill Mts. of New York. Good to have you here as you have a lot to contribute.
Best of luck to you and yours and watch the other guy. Richie

Blue Marlin 1: I'm anxious to see your bike. It sounds like you've done some very nice things to it.

BTW, bmorehboy has added some acoutrements from Chilhowee on his saddlebag and engine guards...take a look at his RKC.

love all this nostalgic road kings guys. ive done most of the mods others have done and added an old school big flake flame job. pics arent the best but i'll have better ones soon

kwb: Nice, very clean bike there! How does your wife like the lower profile saddlebag guard? I replaced the stock one on my bike hoping to give my wife a bit more room...she hasn't ridden with me yet to see if they'll work for her. Those are cool looking lights up on your rear fender, tell us about them. How's the install on them?

heavy K: Good eye...yup, those sure are 518's on my bike.

She likes them alot better than the stock guards...more calf room

The lights are AutoGems...they install pretty easily once you remove the grab bar.

my wife could ride with the regular bag guards she's 5'1" and they got her right in the calfs. with the low profiles she has no issues with the guard hitting her legs
