Turn a Classic into a classic

Really enjoy the ideas and interpretations of fellow "Classic" thinkers. I've been away from this great thread too long - re-posting pics that disappeared with forum updates (more are in my album).

Good Friends,

I've had a couple people ask me who I bought the Blue & White leather braided levers on my bike from. The company is called Iron Braids. I visited their web site last night and noted that they now carry Turquoise & Creme and a LOT of other color choices.

Ride safe.

If you want to yellow your white walls a bit you might try staining them with coffee....it works on old guitar parts that are white and need to be off white for aging...just a thought...

To get ideas for my bike, I oogle over pictures in old Harley books. Look at the items that were stock or Harley accessories from back in the day.

A Road King with hard bags takes it's influence from '60-'64 FLH Duo Glides and '65 and up Electra Glides. Quite a few of the items on those bikes are still available today.

I never really thought of the Road King Classic's leather bags as that nostalgic, but they take a nice nod to late '50's FLs.

There's plenty you can do, just look at lots of pictures and get ideas.

Sorry I haven't had time to add my pictures to my profile, work work work... I traded my 07 Deluxe for my 08 Ultra ( I needed the trunk space) as I ride it every day. Anyhow, I miss the classic look. How do you guys feel about wide white walls on this style of bike. Any other ideas on how to bring back the classic feel that I miss so much. Thanks, Jason

The Ultra is definately a classic design. Add WWW, spokes, visors on the lights and chrome accents here and there. Attached pics are not mine but some I collected somewhere because I loved the look this guy had going...
