Turn a Classic into a classic

You might consider adding twin horns. They look old school, they're loud, and they will save
your life on many occasions. The horns in the Pic are made by Rivco, they're eight years old
and still look brand new. I've turned dozens of guys onto them.. Howard's Horns makes a
similar set.

The chrome forks are on my short list of items I need to buy. The HD tech, while putting the freshly painted tins back on last week mentioned that he wanted to call me and see if I'd pull the trigger while they had the bike on the rack. I need about $600 bucks to get it done though.

Definitely will though.

Here are some pics of mine with a fender light I added after I saw some on here. $15 retro upgrade to cover a nasty rock chip!! It was really easy to wire up. I looked up under the headlight and found a small black two prong connector that wasn't used. It's powered off the accessory switch. I bought the matching connector from H-D, put it on the lightand plugged it in. Easy to remove the fender too.

The guy I sold my Deuce to gave me the roll bag I have on the luggage rack. I think it has a nice retro look to it too. Free upgrade to coverrub marks on theluggage rack!! It is handy for glasses/gum/cell/etc.

This is an upgrade that you can do yourself and save some money. I did mine a couple of winters ago and it's a pretty easy swap. I bought the chrome lowers from either Chicago or Zanottis and bought some new seals and fork oil from my local independent. I did let my independent set the fork seals on the lower swap, but when I swapped out the springs to lower the front this fall I just bought a piece of black abs and did it myself. I'm guessing you can probably do this for about half of what they quoted you.

Thanks for the tip...any ideas on saving $$ are worth considering. I hadn't scrolled through all the posts on this thread for a while but I noted on this same page another rider asking about the Kury neck and mid-frame covers. Over the winter I added both to my bike and they go on very easily...and add quite a bit more bling. The other item added recently was two-tone paint to the fenders and side panels to match up with the tank. Every time I looked at Sols bike I just got a bit tender wishing I could do the same.
 
Hey Whiskers, what is the name of the blue on your bike? Before I got my cobalt/diamond RKC I swore I would paint it the teal & white, but the cobalt has grown on me so much I think whenever I have it painted I will go with cobalt and white or cream like you've done onyourbike. I think your bike looks awesome, I can never just scroll past a picture of it without studying it.I personally would stay with the scheme you have, and this is from someone who thought it didn't get any better than teal & white. If you ever do consider changing the color maybe we could make a trade on body parts and I could supply replacementsand cash in exchange - that could help offset some of your paint costs. I'll even throw in the plug to hook your fender light up...!
