Tungsten T5 or TX: Which to buy?

I need to replace my Tungsten T and I am debating buying a used T5 or a refurbished TX. I noticed the CPU speed dropped from 416MHz to 312MHz and the built in memory dropped from 256MB to 128MB. I'm sold on the 802.11 ability of the TX, but I can buy an SD card to do that, but are they as good? I can also supplement the memory with an SD card. The CPU speed is a concern. Is this a different generation chip so the slower CPU speed does not affect actual performance? Or is this an intentionally lighter product with true replacement for the T5 being the LifeDrive?

My Tungsten T served me well for years until it went missing. I regret not being able to connect my USB GPS to the T, but otherwise it did what I needed. Can either of these connect to a 'standard' USB GPS 'mouse'? The 802.11 connection sounds like a real plus. I live and work in areas covered by 802.11 signals. Suggestions are welcome.

*deep breath* ok, now I have a T|X and i can personally say, it is AWESOME. The CPU i'm sure will not be an issue to you because you are moving from a T|T. The T|X and T5 will both be much faster than what you are currently experiencing. If you want to get technical, the acctually CPU is the same in both machines, but the T|X CPU is slower to save battery life and make room for WiFi use.

That brings me on to the battery life. The T|X battery life is one of the best i've seen. I'm not 100% sure about the T5 but i can guarentee you, if you put a SDIO WiFi card into the T5, you will see the battery drop dramatically because it is not designed to handle the power consuming card.

WiFi is very easy to use on the T|X and it is very similar for a T5 with a SDIO WiFi card.

I'm not sure what a USB GPS Mouse is but from what i can tell, it's a little unit that you can plug into a USB port on a laptop or computer. If that is the case then unfortunatelly no, either the T5 or T|X is able to use the GPS Mouse.

That brings me to another point, the T|X is (from what i can tell) bug free. I have yet to encounter a problem that is T|X related (not software). The T5 is still very very reliable but it does have some very very slight problems which could need some ironing out later down the track.

NOTE: Just remembered something, it would seem that this is a common problem between T|X's - The power button on many machines does not function properly, it may require a fair amount of pressure to turn on.
 
Thank you so much. I read so many horror stories about 6+ hard resets per day and a browser that just didn't work. I was getting concerned. I don't plan to browse that much, but I really want a stable product.

I also read about the power switch. It seems like after pressing so hard for so long it starts to turn itself on. I tend to power up with the other buttons most of the time, so it should not be an issue.
 
I can guarentee it is VERY stable. There is another bug that came to mind, after some uses the browser may take a few seconds to start up. This is not an issue to me as it may require some waiting but it's is 100% stable.

The power switch is a bit of a disappointment for me but as you said, you can always use the other buttons to turn it on.

I had a T3 then Zodiac 2 which were simply fantastic but had no WiFi. I got a WiFi card from Palm to make up for this and it was so annoying to have to remove my 1GB card in order to use WiFi. Also got tricky as I couldn't set my email to download to the memory card because it was removed each time I was online.

I now have a TX and have the joy of bluetooth and WiFi built in. No more removal of the memory card. Sheer bliss! If you're near many WiFi spots you'll simply love the connectivity without the fumbling.
