I can only start my T3 (as SatNav. + TomTom bluetooth)
by useing the "soft start" button on the back; can anyone tell me how to get the navigation to startwith normal switch on?

I had the configuration you described and returned it because of TomTom issues similar and others. I don't recommend TomTom as such with a T3 because of still unresolved issues.
You can do a search in the forum and find my posts about the TomTom unit....but it's not pretty.
I was lucky with using the TomTom only on a "virgin" SD card that didn't have anything else on it. You may want to double check the Manual but the process of "recognizing" the device should be straight forward and definitely doesn't require a soft reset.
Be certain in your preferences that you have BT enabled and set to auto detect.
