Tungsten T3 Fatal Alert-Fatal Exception-won't reset - it's frozen! Whaaaa!

If you can't perfom a hard reset either then your only hope is to let the battery run down and then hot sync.

However, did you add something new that caused this anomolie?

Hi - mahalo for your instantaneous reply.

I put it on the charger and right after that it went fatal.

i guess i'll have to let it uncharge as you suggested and see what happens.

is there any other recourse?

Mahalo again! ;-)

Hard reset is always a possibility if a soft reset won't work. And if a hard reset - hold down the power button while hitting the reset pin - then your only recourse is to allow a power down to occur.

The result is similar to a hard reset except that it takes longer. I would be surprised if a hard reset didn't fix the issue.

Thanks so much; its juice wore down, then i was able to re-synch.

Mahalo nui for all your help. Where is the reset pin in case i ever need to to a hard reset?

:D

Same thing happened to me, out of town, 2 days ago. Occasionally when home I'll hear a "beep" when placing on charger - and it's a white screen of death I can fix - happens every 3-4 months or so.

Also, some chargers were defective and carry a static charge (not grounded well). My solution to this was plug into a power strip, turn the strip and charger "on" and then connect the T3 - never put it on the cradle unpowered.

THIS particular whitescreen occurred several hours after I left the house - pulled out of case and it was "on." It may have occurred in the house and I didn't notice - just unhooked and put in case - but I've deleted the last app I loaded and haven't had problems since, despite "trying to make it happen" every several hours or so to see what the problem is. It has NEVER happened on the remote charger in the car - only the home cradle, and I'm not about to spend $50 on a charger since I'm "new model ready," anyway.

Many times after this happens, busybody, you'll have to remove the SD Card also, and reinsert to have it be "seen." After my "whitescreens," at least, the SD Card is not seen and backups won't occur.
