Tungsten t2 doesn't turn off screen when on cradle?

I just got a Tungsten T2 from a friend, isn't it supposed to turn off the screen after sitting on the cradle after a while?

There is a setting in prefs-power for "stay on in cradle". Change the setting to "stay off in cradle" by using the dropdown triangle next to the setting.
