Tungsten T hard reset doesn't work!!!

Hi,

Can anyone please help? Just purchased a used Tungsten T, and the initial problem was that I needed to digitize the unit a few times a day in order to input. A few days ago, I could not even get to the digitizing screen, so I used the scroll buttons.

That worked fine, until it hung another time, and a soft reset couldn't do it. I tried a hard reset, and got as far as the digitizing initial screen, and that's as far as I can go with both the stylus and scroll buttons. Nothin works now.

Is there anything beyond a hard reset? Am so frustrated with the unit. Thought Palm makes good stuff...

Thanks a bunch!

Yes... This can happen. Never happened with my TT, but on my IIIc I once had this. A Battery reset solved it (do a soft reset with the unit seated in the cradle and recharging i.e. ac adapter connected and on).
Hope that helps, if not you'll just have to let the unit go completely flat and then reset which could unfortunately be many weeks...

Sorry think I misread your post.. So your Palm isn't frozen, you just can't get the machine to recognise any screen taps? There is a fix from Palm (I think it was for the TT) and if that doesn't work, it'd either have to go back to Palm, or you could try self-fixing with guides people have put online.. Depends how brave you are..

Just confirm, can you turn the machine on and off with the power button?

You're right, didn't word it well enough. The machine can be turned on, but that's as far as it goes. I can't input anything (won't register screen taps), be it with the stylus or sccroll buttons.

How do I install the fix when I can't get past the first screen?

My apologies for posing so many questions - am new to PDAs.

Is there a place / website / forum I can go to to read these fixes people recommend?
Thanks for taking the time.

Sincerely,
Johann
